Police: 2 men shot at rooftop party inside Ballpark Village

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) –

Police are investigating after two men were shot inside Ballpark Village Sunday night.

The shooting happened just past 8:00 p.m. on the rooftop of the sports-themed bar and venue.

At a press conference, Capt. Renee Kriesmann from the St. Louis City Police Department said an argument broke out at the party and the suspect pulled out a gun and began firing shots in the crowd. Two men in their 30’s were struck by the gunfire, according to authorities.

Police said one man was shot in the head and is in critical, unstable condition. The other victim was shot in the leg and is in stable but critical condition, according to authorities.

Both men were transported to an area hospital.

News 4’s Alexis Zotos spoke with a man who heard two to three shots while at a private event. According to the Facebook event post, about 500 people were expected to attend a Eat, Drink, Chill Launch Rooftop day party.

“You didn’t expect it to happen there,” the witness said.

Police said the alleged shooter is still at large and do not have a description at this time. Both private security and off-duty officers were present at the party, authorities say.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact local law enforcement.
